A Dual-Location Hostel Website Built for Travelers in the Heart of Vancouver
The Cambie Hostels, part of The Cambie Malone’s Group, operate two adult-oriented hostels in Downtown Vancouver: one in the historic Gastown district and one on Seymour Street near the Harbour Centre. Known for affordable stays, lively social atmosphere, and proximity to Vancouver’s best nightlife and attractions, the hostels needed a website that was modern, easy to use, and built to support high-volume international tourism.
We were asked to redesign and rebuild their online presence in Webflow, creating a unified website for both locations while integrating their preferred booking system, CloudBeds.

Understanding the Challenge
While the hostels receive bookings from travel platforms like Booking.com, Expedia, and Hotels.com, their priority was to drive direct bookings through CloudBeds, their internal reservation system.
The new website needed to solve several key requirements:
- Present two hostels on one platform
- Integrate CloudBeds booking widgets and links
- Showcase facilities, room types, rates, and nearby attractions
- Highlight TCMG sister venues (The Cambie Bar, Take Out Shack, Malone’s, The 515 Bar)
- Support a CMS-powered blog for travel tips and local recommendations
- Be mobile-friendly and fast for international travelers
- Provide an accessible, trustworthy user experience
The client wanted a site that felt welcoming, traveler-focused, and reflective of the energy of Downtown Vancouver.

A Modern, Traveler-Friendly Design System
We built a visual direction that balanced fun, approachability, and clarity. The design:
- Clearly separates the Gastown and Seymour Street locations
- Uses modern layouts and clear navigation
- Highlights key details travelers look for: amenities, location, nightlife, and transportation
- Incorporates the personality of each neighborhood
- Features strong CTAs for direct booking
- Includes high-quality photography and illustrations
The goal was to give users a smooth experience whether browsing on a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone especially important for travelers on the go.

Webflow Development With CloudBeds Integration
Once the design was approved, we fully rebuilt the website in Webflow with a clean, scalable structure.
Development included:
- CloudBeds booking integration for both locations
- Separate booking buttons and flows for Gastown and Seymour
- Responsive behavior optimized for international guests using mobile
- Clean class architecture for long-term updates
- Components and CMS structures for rooms, amenities, blog posts, and nearby venues
- Smooth interactions that make the experience feel modern, but not overwhelming
The website’s layout supports quick navigation, ideal for travelers who need information fast.

A CMS-Powered Blog for SEO & Traveler Guidance
To strengthen organic search traffic and help visitors explore Vancouver, we implemented a full travel blog with:
- CMS-driven blog posts
- Sections for tips, local attractions, neighborhood guides, and events
- SEO-ready structure
- Clean and readable blog templates
This gives The Cambie Hostels a way to attract more search traffic around topics like:
- Vancouver hostels
- Gastown nightlife
- Budget travel Vancouver
- Things to do in Downtown Vancouver
It also positions the hostel as a helpful guide for travelers.

The Outcome
The new website is:
- Modern, clean, and built for international travelers
- Fully integrated with CloudBeds for direct booking
- Structured around two unique hostel locations
- Optimized for SEO and mobile usage
- Connected to the wider TCMG hospitality ecosystem
- Fast, responsive, and easy to manage
Guests can quickly find rooms, compare locations, explore nearby venues, and book their stay — all within a seamless Webflow experience.
The Cambie Hostels now have an online presence that reflects their atmosphere, supports their growth, and enhances the travel experience from the moment guests land on the site.
